Reviews As An Agnostic-Atheist

Here you’ll find links to all my atheist/agnostic reviews. I was raised a homeschooled, conservative Christian, and these reviews focus on stories I was brought up on; ones intended to shape me as a Christian and a person. I dissect them, in part to help Christians and non-Christians understand each other better, and in part to explore why I turned out the way I did, instead of how my parents wanted me to be.

These reviews aren’t intended to convert or deconvert anyone. I think that religion is a private matter, and I respect people of all faiths. But I do want to encourage people to question how their beliefs interact with a world that, even for the most mainstream religions, mostly disagrees with them. How does religion inform personal ethics, politics, and ideas about how the world works? Do you think your faith is objectively, obviously true, and people who disagree are just foolish? If a study were to contradict some aspect of your faith, how would you react? Growing up, I wasn’t encouraged to ask those questions; at least, not in a way that would let my beliefs evolve. When I started seriously asking them, I became a better person, and to me that outcome is more important than the fact that I also happened to become an atheist.

Thank you for reading, and if you have thoughts I would love to hear them, so leave a comment!
